Delphi Display Systems Inc., Costa Mesa, California-based provider of quick service restaurant drive-thru performance optimization products and outdoor digital signage systems, announced Wednesday that it achieved record financial results for calendar fiscal year 2012.The results were driven by significant growth across multiple product lines in its domestic QSR drive-thru technology business.
Delphi Display Systems experienced positive growth during 2012 with revenues and profitability reaching the highest level in the company’s 17-year history. Revenues grew by more than 15% compared with 2011 results, with profitability also up versus the prior year.
“As a privately owned company, we aren’t able to give revenue and profit figures,” says Ken Neeld, president and CEO of Delphi Display Systems. “However, I can say that we’ve been in business for 17 years and have been growing every year for the past 10, with 2012 being a record.”
The company, still believed to be in the under-$100 million category, nevertheless is present, with various partners, in 49 countries worldwide. The company’s record financial results were fueled by the strong adoption of its new Insight product offerings and by sharp gains in market share. Unit sales also increased significantly during the period as demand rose for all products despite stiff economic headwinds and competitive price pressures.
Insight, an integrated software and hardware product introduced last year for the quick service restaurant sector, can take credit for the 2012 leap in sales. The one product combines digital menu boards, digital pre-sale, order confirmation, drive-through timing system, wireless headset confirmation, and therefore provides the company to gather analytics and other information,
“Our record financial performance for 2012 is a testament to the high value of Delphi’s solutions in the market and our commitment to serving the evolving needs of our customers, both in the U.S. and around the world,” says Neeld. “The success we achieved last year is a direct result of our focus on delivering premier customer service, world-class engineering design, and the highest quality and most innovative products available. This would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of the passionate employees at Delphi. I am fortunate to be part of this great team and look forward to even stronger performance in 2013 as we launch an entire line of new products and services targeted at existing and new market opportunities.”
Delphi will be at Digital Signage Expo where it will be showing several new products including among them, outdoor digital signage for use by QSR, hospitality, retail, education and transit. Another new product, seen above, will be for use on sidewalks by cafes, and small restaurants. It combines a 22” digital sign and a chalkboard for daily specials or other messages.
Delphi Display Systems designs and manufactures a wide variety of outdoor digital signage products and business analytics software solutions serving the quick service petroleum, retail, and other market verticals. Applications include drive-thru order confirmation systems, vehicle timing solutions, digital menu boards, gas-pump top video displays, outdoor interactive way-finding systems and more.
