The pristine 10mm LED technology can be seen traveling north and south on Yonge St. as well as west on Gerrard St. and is believed to be the largest 10mm display in Canada.

Notably, one of the more unique features of this design is the light spire on the north side of the structure stretching 42’ feet in height from the base of the digital displays. This lighting element can be integrated into the advertisers creative by applying custom colorations which change as each advertisement rotates through the loop.

Cieslok worked closely with the City of Toronto, the Heritage Preservation Services, the Ward Councillor, Urban Planning, the Sign By-Law Unit and the land owner to amend the by-law, allowing for such an iconic sign and fulfilling the City of Toronto’s vision for the Yonge St. special sign district corridor.

An investment of $150,000 was made by Cieslok to refurbish the historic attributes of the Elephant & Castle building.

Jörg Cieslok, president & CEO says, “The excitement the Cieslok team has for this development is immense. It was one of those projects that, as you’re working through the various development phases, you can feel the energy surrounding it grow and increase. To be the company that launched this type of iconic signage first in Canada is a tremendous feat for us. We are all very proud of this.”

ChrisBentler, Cieslok’s vice-president operations and business development, says, “It was key for us to maintain the historical integrity of the building’s architecture while enhancing the aesthetic with a clean crisp display. This sign will become a part of Toronto’s history and culture in an area that is evolving and changing daily.”
