TrainFX, acting as a subcontractor, has been awarded a contract for the provision of a real-time passenger information system for the Eversholt Rail Group owned/Southern operated Class 313 (EMU) fleet.

TrainFX Managing Director Phil Campbell told “This is another important Contract success for TrainFX in the UK and one which allows us to further demonstrate our new advanced passenger information system and to work with one of the UK’s leading train refurbishment Companies”.

The Derby-based Rail Technology Company will be responsible for system design and supply of the TrainFX Passenger Information, Communication and Security system (PICS) – Passenger Information (pi) module, for 19 x 3-car Class 313 EMU’s.

The Product will be delivered as part of a major refurbishment project which is being undertaken on behalf of Southern Rail.

Phil added “Having made significant investment in the development of our portfolio of. technologies (over the past 5 years), we are delighted to see the rewards for that investment, through another Contract award in the UK.”

Tim Baldwin, Chairman of RAM told us “This second major contract for a passenger information system demonstrates the confidence that the rail industry has in our leading edge technology. As previously reported, the scale of works by contract value required to either upgrade or new supply passenger information and security on trains is very large, particularly in the context of our market value. There are few suppliers in this space and the company has a substantive pipeline of tendered contracts. We expect further significant contracts to be forthcoming in 2010 and onwards in both the UK and overseas and as such we are very confident of the outlook for the company.”
