Atlanta-based Visix Inc. showed off its digital signage solutions for hospital and healthcare facilities, including content management software, interactive wayfinding and Power over Ethernet room signs, last week at the annual conference in New Orleans for HIMSS – the premier venue for education and showcasing of information technology and management systems for the betterment of healthcare.

visix_logo“Healthcare is a growing market for us and we’ve been exploring ways to better serve that community,” says Trey Hicks, chief sales officer for Visix.

Visix showcased its AxisTV digital signage software with a web-based, user-friendly interface, fill-in-the-blank templates and enterprise scheduling capabilities. The software also allows healthcare facilities to publish alert notifications and distribute messages to smartphones.

The company also showed a variety of award-winning custom interactive designs from Visix Creative Services. Touchscreen wayfinding designs are used to guide visitors through healthcare facilities and campuses, and can incorporate personnel or department directories, along with standard digital signage content.

One featured design is Visix’s new interactive waiting room display for Jeff Gordon Children’s Hospital. The screen allows children to explore a virtual aquarium, read a storybook, play a bubble-pop game and color in fun shapes on the screen

Visix also showed a sleek new 10” 16:9 Power over Ethernet model to its MeetingMinder interactive room signs line. The room sign allows playback of room schedules along with dynamic media and messages. The PoE interactive display allows a single Ethernet cable to supply both power and data to the room sign, addressing concerns of both physical concealment and AC proximity for power bricks.
