2013 The Digital Perspective

For the fourth year running, Digital-Out-Of-Home networking group The Screen will focus its last event of the year on looking back and reviewing the year that was. ‘Digital Perspective 2013’, to be held on December 4th at The Hospital Club, will assess what has been another significant year for the Industry.

2012 was dominated by the massive investment and spend around the London Olympics – so in 2013 did we see the market fall or did it continue its rapid expansion?  Have new network owners and advertisers flooded into the market or are there signs of a saturation point emerging ?  If we keep building it, will they come?

To ponder these and other possibilities and to consider their impact on the wider media industry, The Screen has brought together three key industry commentators, each representing different stakeholders from across the sector.

  • Eric Newnham, CEO, Talon Outdoor:  Eric is behind the year’s most exciting shake up in the Out Of Home Industry – the arrival of Talon Outdoor. Having previously built up Kinetic before selling it to WPP, Eric will be discussing why he has been drawn back into the OOH market and outlining his view of digital OOH and how it will truly evolve in 2014.
  • Steve Parker, Co-CEO, Starcom MediaVest Group UK: Starcom’s Audience on Demand real-time digital bidding platform has become the largest in Europe. 11 years at MediaVest, Steve will talk about how their clients have employed tools like this to adapt to the opportunities that digital OOH presents.
  • Tim Bleakley, CEO Ocean Outdoor: Ocean Outdoor exists to develop iconic landmark Digital- Out-Of-Home sites and over the last few years it has enjoyed phenomenal growth. Tim will look at how digital OOH fared in the aftermath of the Olympics and assess the continuing growth opportunities even as the market matures.
