Viscom Paris Digital Village – Really ?

Russ Curry, Ministry of New Media

Once again VISCOM stretches the term ‘digital’ to its linguistic limits. These days, everything is digital, my radio is digital, my watch is digital, my toaster is digital – so who exactly would you expect to find in a ‘Digital Village’ hidden behind an exhibition hall full of digital printers?

I went looking in vain for a digital pub (every village has one). Instead, tucked away behind an ominous looking Intel stand, I found Daniel, Stephanie and Vladimir from BroadSign bravely flying the flag for our industry – at last a proper digital company!

And being the only digital company visible  in the hall might just pay off for them – Scala, Mirane and TMM were in the house – walking the show floor, Ed BUT only Daniel & Co were exhibiting, no doubt scooping up any potential customers who strayed away from the digital printers.

The event overall however was pretty much a waste of time.

The Digital Signage Best Practice Award will present great nominees from the industry this year. We would be glad to see you in November at viscom in Frankfurt.
