Litefast 360 degree LED at ISE

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

Adrian J Cotterill, Editor-in-Chief

ISE of course was full of screens; LCD, PDP, LED, rear projection – large and small. There were a couple of curved screens and this circular 360 degree LED shown above from Litefast. On the whole we thought that the content on all the screens at the show was generally poor – not the quality […]

Adrian J Cotterill, Editor-in-Chief

At ISE a number of screen manufacturers and resellers had screens of various shapes and sizes to display. Our award for the best and most effective way to showcase them goes to albiral, a Spanish distributor who had this really cool 6 foot high ‘rack’ of 21 screens. Very, very neat.

Lost? Well ‘the answers are coming’ !!

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

Adrian J Cotterill, Editor-in-Chief

Great to see six-sheet posters and Titan’s exceptional ‘Transvision’ screen being used at London’s Victoria station to promote Sky One’s fourth season of the TV programme ‘Lost’ – shame that the marketing folks behind the campaign are continuing to play around with Bluetooth (we say let the ‘bluejacking’ lie down and die gracefully). The campaign […]

Video of Deutsche Postbank Installation

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

Adrian J Cotterill, Editor-in-Chief

The Deutsche Postbank installation if you remember is shrouded in secrecy (not sure why, it’s nothing special and at 850 venues not that large THESE days). It’s a T-Systems (division of Deutsche Telekom) using 42media group’s OxygenMediaPlatform deployment. We have requested photos a couple of times but the requests have fallen on deaf ears. Anyway […]

AMX Stand at ISE

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

Adrian J Cotterill, Editor-in-Chief

Overall, ISE seemed to be very well attended and their were many very busy stands. We thought based on the Tuesday and Wednesday at least that the busiest stand was that of AMX (and Inspired Signage) shown above.

Hantarex Stand at ISE

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

Adrian J Cotterill, Editor-in-Chief

The ITrans screen (from Screen Technology in Cambridge, UK) on the Hantarex stand was so bright (several thousand candelas) that it was difficult to take a good picture of it (we had to angle our cameras high to reduce the glare so couldn’t get the whole screen in the shot). Hantarex probably had more screens […]

Scala Don’t Have 34% Market Share

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

Adrian J Cotterill, Editor-in-Chief

Hey, we don’t want to fall out with anyone in the industry but we will attempt to put a sense of “perspective” on events, campaign and announcements. We are happy to have dropped the ridiculous Frost & Sullivan ‘Scala Have 34% market share of the market share’ pronouncements (having covered it first here “Our View […]

Adrian J Cotterill, Editor-in-Chief

Fresh from winning a DIGI award we see that EnQii has just announced an interesting partnership with The London Eye – the UK’s number one paid-for visitor attraction! Basically EnQii has installed and is currently managing eleven screens, located in the ticket hall, kiosk and queuing areas. The network of nine 42 inch and two […]
