YCD Acquires C-nario

Adrian J Cotterill, Editor-in-Chief

We told you this back in September in our post ‘Are C-nario And YCD Set To Merge?‘ so the news in this morning that YCD Multimedia are acquiring C-nario (in a stock transaction) should come as no surprise to any of our regular readers.

Noam Levavi, YCD co-founder and CEO

The official press releases tells us that the “combination of YCD and C-nario brings together .. blah … to deliver a robust end-to-end solution that encompasses everything from content management to measurement and analytics … more blah (and) as a result of the recent integration, the company will expand its reach to serve more than 2,000 brands, including leading Fortune 500 global brands, in over 40 countries worldwide.”

Noam Levavi, co-founder and CEO of YCD will lead the combined entity from its NYC headquarters though it seems to be a red card for (now) former C-nario CEO Tamir Ginat (and the promise of his ‘dream team’) who leaves the company once the transition is done.

Noam Levavi told us “By combining YCD’s offering and expertise together with C-nario’s high-end digital signage technology we take another major step toward achieving our vision of delivering personalization and measurement to brick-and-mortar environments.”

The press release also states that the company completed a new USD 6 million fundraising round led by Carmel Ventures, Opus Capital, Pitango Venture Capital and Plenus, together with other existing shareholders.

Avi Zeevi, C-nario’s Chairman and General Partner and Co-Founder of Carmel Ventures told us “We can now combine the power of our individual strengths and core competencies to establish a leadership position in the digital signage industry.”
