Kepler Group Acquires @InfectiousMedia

Adrian J Cotterill, Editor-in-Chief

US-based digital marketing agency Kepler Group has acquired Infectious Media. We understand that Infectious Media will retain its brand name for the time being but will be rebadged as Kepler in some form of staged process.

Infectious was founded by chief executive Martin Kelly and chief operating officer Andy Cocker back in 2008 and has 65 staff mostly based in London.

Kepler is actually owned by Japanese holding company Hakuhodo DY, which in turn is part of the ‘Kyu Collective’ that also includes the agencies Sid Lee, Ideo and SY Partners.

In total that group has 400 staff across offices in London, Singapore, New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, San Francisco and Costa Rica.

The acquisition should not result in job losses. Martin Kelly will become UK and Asia-Pacific chief executive of Kepler. Andy Cocker will become chief operating officer of the UK and Asia-Pacific.
