UK @RMGNetworks Re-Shuffle

Adrian J Cotterill, Editor-in-Chief

It now looks very likely (previously it was only a ‘rumour’) that there has been a major reshuffle with RMG Networks in the UK. It would seem that former boss Dan Horgan has been let go and despite (allegedly) initially resigning, Director of Operations Martyn Barnett is now in charge.

Dan is a super-salesman and in our opinion one of the nicest guys in the industry. He has shown loyalty to RMG Networks (and Symon of course before the acquisition) for over a dozen years. A loyalty it would seem that has (somehow) NOT been repaid.

Dan’s revenue contribution across EMEA to Symon is what, pretty-much made Symon a very profitable company. If you are looking for a fantastic salesman for EMEA (and he is not covered by some onerous non-compete) then you should grab him quickly whilst he is on the market.

  1. RMG used-to-be Says:

Adrian, I could not agree with you more. Dan is “super” in all respects, he is an outstanding individual and always a pleasure to work with. You do your readers a disservice however, not pointing out the wholesale dumping, of very ‘loyal” digital signage industry talent, RMG has done in the last two years. Dan is merely the latest installment. Only 1 senior executive who reported to the very successful Symon CEO, Charles Ansley, remains left in the company . Much middle management have been let go as well. These folks were not let go for not drinking the cool-aid of a new regime. They were all casualties of poor decisions, bold statements and financial mismanagement of individuals at the very top of the company. Still other successful individuals who still remain are now leaving the company fearing the ax or seeing no light at the end of the tunnel. In the end, RMG is a fast sinking ship, so I am happy for Dan to be out of a toxic situation and I’m sure he will bring success and profitability to whatever he decides to do next.
